Turn Pike Tolls To Be Let

NEATH AND DISTRICT TURNPIKE TOLLS TO BE LET

Notice is hereby given, that the TOLLS arising at several Toll-Gates hereunder named, upon the several Turnpike-roads within this District, will be LET by AUCTION, to the best bidder, at the house of Rd. Townsend, called the Ship and Castle Inn, at Neath, within the said District, on Wednesday, the 4th. of September next, between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, in the manner directed by a certain Act of Parliament passed in the 13th. year of the reign of his Majesty King George the Third, "for reulating the Turnpike-roads" which Tolls produced last year, above the expense of collecting the same, the following sums, viz.

West Gate....................... ?332
South and East Gates........ ?156
Aberavon Gate ................ ?92
Pontneddfechan Gate ....... ?44

Whoever happens to be the best bidder must, at the same time, give security, with sufficient sureties, to the satisfaction of the Trustees of the said Turnpike-roads, for payment of the rent agreed for, and at such times as they shall direct.

Notice is also hereby given, that the said Trustees will, at the same time and place, proceed to the Election of New Trustees for the said District, in the manner directed by a certain other Act of Parliament, passed in the 45th. year of the reign of his said Majesty, intitled "An Act for more affectually making, repairing, and improving several Roads in the county of Glamorgan."
